The Pinckney Players have a long, proud history in this community.
Their home is the Jane Tasch Performing Arts Center of Pinckney, Michigan. It's played an integral role in the introduction of community theatre to Livingston County and the surrounding areas.

Jane Tasch - The Woman & The Story of Our Stage
Jane Tasch Performing Arts Center
Jane Tasch was an educator for 30 years in the Pinckney area. She loved the arts and was the driving force behind getting theatre started in the community. The first community play performed at the Jane Tasch Performing Arts Center was her own, "So Melts the Ice". The play was based on a book written by Billie Swarthout. It depicted the history of the ice harvest of the early 1900's in the Lakeland area. Jane dedicated the show to the book’s author, and it was performed in December of 1981 on the elegant new stage of our beloved theater.
The Jane Tasch Performing Arts Center was built in 1980 using school bond funds. The theater has capacity to seat 900 patrons, with 600 on the main floor and 300 in the balcony. The community education complex was constructed along with the gym and pool at the same time.
The Pinckney Players truly appreciate the beautiful theater and the path that Jane Tasch paved. At the close of every show, the cast silently leaves a single flower on the empty stage to thank Jane for her vision.
